Building on the success of BMW09, BMW10 and BMW11 Business Mum Week, 1st – 7th October 2012 will again see mums from all over the UK hosting more events; meet-up’s, open days and workshops with the united target of inspiring more women into business and creating more local networking groups across the UK.
The first Business Mum Week was in 2009, an idea by the founder of MumsClub; the original & award winning business club for mums. Jane Hopkins, now MBE, developed this as an initiative to create local media interest in mums in business and reach further into local communities to create more mum owned businesses.
The first week of October was strategically planned – a month after the kids go back to school giving mum a good few weeks to settle the kids back into the new school year, and for herself to get back into work mode after the summer.

It has worked marvelously each year; a buzz is created locally and produces local media interest and does indeed help to increase the number of mum owned start up businesses. This year; the year of the Queens Jubilee, the Olympics, and Miss Jane’s MBE investiture, the buzz is set to continue!
